About the Role

We are seeking an experienced New Model Lead Supplier Quality Engineer – Exterior Trim to play a pivotal role in ensuring that our exterior trim components meet the highest standards throughout the complete product lifecycle.
As the New Model Lead Supplier Quality Engineer for Exterior Trim, you will lead and coach the supplier network to ensure the successful delivery of quality-focused solutions from supplier selection through to serial production and warranty performance. You will provide technical leadership across a commodity area covering exterior mouldings, exterior metalwork and composites, including visual carbon fibre components, working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to deliver world-class quality and performance.
This is a highly influential role within the Supplier Quality team, where you will drive the successful introduction of new model programmes while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration. You will be a part of a high-performing team, ensuring parts are introduced efficiently, effectively, and on time through a strong cross-functional commodity approach.
Working closely with suppliers and internal engineering, manufacturing, and programme teams, you will oversee supplier quality activities throughout the component lifecycle. You will lead supplier selection activities, conduct supplier audits and process control assessments, and support the development and implementation of robust manufacturing processes capable of consistently delivering premium-quality products. You will utilize advanced quality planning methodologies including APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Measurement System Analysis, Control Plans, and Value Stream Analysis to ensure successful new part introduction and programme delivery.

The successful candidate will monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring quality, timing, and cost objectives are achieved. You will lead investigations into component and process issues through detailed drawing, CAD, and data analysis, while supporting the delivery of AMPAP milestones and ensuring readiness for production.
Requirements
This role requires a strong technical background within supplier quality and manufacturing environments, combined with proven leadership experience. You will possess outstanding problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of quality tools and techniques, and the ability to influence and inspire both internal teams and external suppliers. Experience of supplier auditing, process development, new product introduction, and quality planning methodologies is essential. You will be comfortable operating within a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and capable of managing competing priorities while maintaining a clear focus on delivering exceptional results.
