Helapet stands as a leading UK manufacturer and distributor of medical and cleanroom consumables. Our range of sterile and non-sterile products are used to support healthcare provision and aseptic production within hospitals, pharmaceutical manufacturing, laboratories, and veterinary practice.

We are the part of Clinimed Holdings Limited, a group of companies established in 1982 through the acquisition and formation of various entities within the group.

Job Summary

The New Product Co-ordinator will support the development and launch of innovative medical devices and healthcare products within Helapet’s Sales and Marketing team. The role involves coordinating new product introductions, sourcing materials (including more sustainable options), and working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to define market needs and develop product concepts. It also includes supporting design specifications, product validation, and hands-on prototype development. The ideal candidate will have a life science, healthcare, or engineering background, with strong communication, attention to detail, and an interest in developing project management skills within the medical device industry.

Job Responsibilities

  • Project manage product development from initial sourcing and development through to handover to Marketing for launch (covering both existing and new products)
  • Generate and evaluate new product concepts through testing and feasibility assessment
  • Source materials, components, and finished products in line with business requirements
  • Support the definition, design, and development of new Helapet products
  • Identify and source prototypes for customer and market evaluation
  • Develop and maintain product and raw material specifications
  • Ensure designs are suitable for cost-effective and scalable manufacturing
  • Liaise with suppliers on quality, technical, and specification-related matters
  • Provide technical product information and support to the Marketing team
  • Ensure all activities comply with company Quality Systems, Health & Safety policies, and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Create and maintain accurate specifications for raw materials and finished products.

Personal Specifications

Essential

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Life Sciences, Engineering, Healthcare, or related discipline
  • Proven project management experience, ideally within medical devices or healthcare
  • Experience supporting or delivering new product introductions to market
  • Strong understanding of product development processes and ability to translate requirements into clear product specifications
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including engagement with internal teams and external suppliers
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical ability
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic approach.

Desirable

  • Formal project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile, PMP)
  • Experience in sales or marketing environments
  • Knowledge of healthcare/medical products and understanding of regulatory requirements
  • Awareness of marketing principles and market insight development
  • Ability to identify new market opportunities and support business growth
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a flexible and adaptable approach
  • Positive, team-oriented and results-driven mindset
