£60k p.a. | London | Medical Skincare Brand
A medical skincare brand with innovation at its core, where new product development shapes the creative direction, the campaigns and the retail strategy. This is a rare chance for a cosmetic chemist or NPD specialist to own the roadmap outright and to build the lab it runs from.
Your New Role
- Owning the global NPD roadmap, taking products from first concept through formulation and testing to commercial launch
- Setting up the in-house NPD laboratory, sourcing the equipment, materials and resources it needs
- Researching new ingredient technologies, scientific literature and consumer insight to find the next opportunity
- Formulating new skincare and reformulating existing products to improve efficacy, sustainability and cost
- Building cost-benefit cases that weigh performance and innovation against profitability
- Running several development projects at once with manufacturers, keeping quality, budgets and timelines on track
- Designing stability, compatibility and efficacy testing that stands behind every product claim
- Keeping the portfolio compliant with UK, EU and international regulations, with documentation and trackers in order
- Working with brand and marketing on claims, product copy, educational materials and training resources
- Reviewing portfolio performance and recommending where innovation should go next

Your Talents
- You have taken skincare formulations from concept to commercial launch within a cosmetics, skincare or personal care business, and you know cosmetic ingredients and formulation science inside out.
- You understand UK, EU and international cosmetic regulations well enough to keep products compliant across global markets.
- You think commercially, balancing innovation against cost, and the ownership that comes with an entrepreneurial start-up energises you.
- A degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related discipline is preferred.
