About the Role
At ADM Protexin, we’re redefining pet and human health through functional nutrition. We’re looking for a Product Development Operative to play a key role in our New Product Development (NPD) pipeline—supporting both Protexin branded innovations and client-led briefs.
This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative role where you’ll help translate concepts into commercially viable, high-performance products.

Responsibilities
- Drive execution of NPD projects across Protexin and external client briefs (B2B2C & B2C)
- Coordinate activities required to deliver launch-ready, functional nutrition solutions
- Plan and run development and compatibility trials using lab-scale and pilot equipment
- Translate customer briefs into practical formulations and trial plans
- Collaborate with Development Scientists to optimise functional ingredient performance and stability
- Work closely with contract manufacturers to scale up and commercialise new products
- Troubleshoot formulation and process challenges, ensuring robust, manufacturable solutions
- Maintain detailed project records and manage workflows via ERP systems

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
