PE Global is currently recruiting for an Engineering Project Manager for a leading multi-national Pharma client based in Cambridge.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 5–7 years of relevant experience in an Engineering or Operations environment, including project management, NPI activities, and work with multidisciplinary products through the Product Life Cycle.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of NPI processes, production readiness, manufacturing operations, supply chain planning, sourcing, contract manufacturers/OEMs, supplier quality, and operational implementation.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers, subcontractors, suppliers, or third-party production environments is a significant advantage.
  • Strong understanding of product documentation, BOM and revision management, engineering change processes, work instructions, production processes, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience with PLM and ERP systems; knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter is an advantage.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple levels, disciplines, cultures, and global interfaces.
  • High sense of ownership, accuracy, structure, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Fluent English, including reading, writing, speaking, and business communication.
  • Ability to lead meetings, share knowledge, conduct training, and influence without direct authority in a matrix environment.

Job Details

  • This is an initial 12 months contract position.
  • Pay rate is between £23.69ph - £40.31ph PAYE or £32.02ph - £54.48ph Umbrella.
  • Role will require at least 3 days in-office in Cambridge.
  • The role is part of a multi-site programme, working alongside teams located in California, USA and in Israel.
  • Willingness to travel as required for supplier, CMO, or project implementation activities, up to 3-4 times a year for maximum 2 weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project management activities for new product introduction, product transitions, production readiness, and ongoing product lifecycle projects.
  • Represent Operations within project teams and ensure that operational, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, regulatory, and engineering requirements are captured, aligned, and implemented.
  • Build and manage project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, milestones, risks, mitigations, dependencies, and escalation processes.
  • Lead matrix teams across local and global interfaces, driving alignment, decision-making, accountability, and timely execution.
  • Manage communication and reporting to project teams and leadership, including project status, risks, issues, decisions, and next steps.
  • Lead and support NPI activities for multidisciplinary products from development to production.
  • Support contract manufacturing activities, including establishment or transfer of production lines at CMOs/OEMs and coordination of engineering, operational, technical, quality, and supply chain requirements.
  • Serve as an interface and focal point for CMOs, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders related.
  • Support and coordinate engineering change processes.
  • Maintain required engineering and operational data in PLM and ERP systems.
  • Drive cross-functional problem solving and operational readiness activities.
