Precision Engineering & Manufacturing

Salary £40,000 - £70,000 DOE

Full-Time | Permanent

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a background in manufacturing or precision engineering? Do you enjoy leading complex New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept through to production?

Our client, a well-established and highly respected precision engineering manufacturer, is looking to recruit a New Product Project Manager to join their growing engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering technically challenging projects within a quality-driven manufacturing environment.

The Role

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will take ownership of new product introduction and development projects from initial customer enquiry or contract award through to successful production handover.

Working closely with engineering, production, quality, purchasing and commercial teams, you'll ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards while acting as the key point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) and product development projects from launch through to production.
  • Manage projects using a structured gated development process, ensuring milestones and approvals are achieved.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans using Microsoft Project.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, production, quality, purchasing and operations.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor project risks, actions, costs, quality, timescales and change control.
  • Support manufacturability reviews covering machining, casting, inspection and production readiness.
  • Ensure customer specifications, engineering drawings and quality requirements are fully understood and implemented.
  • Support APQP, PPAP, FAIR, FMEA, control plans and process validation activities where required.
  • Chair project review meetings and provide clear progress updates.
  • Manage the successful handover of projects into production.
  • Drive continuous improvement across NPI and project delivery processes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
