As a Tax Senior Associate at Kainos

You will support the delivery of tax compliance, reporting and advisory activity across the Group, working closely with the Group Head of Tax, internal finance teams and external advisers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with external advisers and manage the tax compliance aspect of the Group’s secondment process.
  • Liaise with external advisers to manage with the Group’s corporation tax compliance, including assisting with:
    • Drafting half-year and year-end tax computations
    • Prepare the tax notes for the group and subsidiary accounts
    • Calculating quarterly payments on account
    • Support with the workings that contribute to the annual RDEC claims / overseas equivalent claims
    • Review of UK VAT returns on a quarterly basis and maintain payment and submission deadlines.
    • Oversee the global VAT compliance, reviewing VAT returns prepared by local country advisers.
    • Assist with maintaining compliant transfer pricing policy by preparing calculations based on existing transfer pricing policy/study.
    • Liaising with the Payroll team to assist with tax compliance matters arising through payroll.
    • Preparation of tax schedules, calculations and disclosure notes ensuring audit sign off and appropriate records are collated and maintained to support the tax provisions.
    • Maintain awareness of tax developments internationally and implications for the business
    • Assist the Group Head of Tax with ad hoc tax projects, e.g. M&A, due diligence, new legislative developments etc.

Minimum Essential Requirements:

  • CAI/ACA/CIMA qualified and/or CTA qualified.
  • Tax Practice background, principally experienced in UK tax matters.
  • Experience in delivering on tax compliance / tax advisory projects for clients.
  • Possess strong commercial acumen and be able to work effectively under pressure, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, have excellent communication skills, and be able to make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, is required.
  • Teamwork is key at Kainos, so strong collaborative skills are crucial, as is the flexibility to work extra hours during peak periods.

  • Experience dealing with taxes outside the UK.
  • Tax audit or accounting experience for large corporate groups.
