Position: Reporters & Correspondents

Type: Contract

Compensation: $40 - $75/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10-40 hrs/week

Role Responsibilities

  • Analyze and synthesize information from public records, reports, and lengthy documents to distill key findings.
  • Conduct rigorous source verification and fact-checking to ensure the accuracy and credibility of all content produced.
  • Develop well-structured, non-opinion articles employing industry-standard narrative formats such as the lead and inverted pyramid.
  • Craft concise, clear, and context-rich summaries or full-length articles based on provided document sets.
  • Participate in iterative editorial reviews, incorporating feedback to enhance clarity, structure, and factual consistency.
  • Document research methods and citation trails for transparency and future reference within the project.

Requirements

  • Have strong relevant experience in the domain of reporting or correspondent work at a recognized media outlet.
  • Proven expertise in document-heavy beats such as investigative journalism, business, or science reporting.
  • Demonstrated excellence in synthesizing large volumes of material into engaging, structured narratives.
  • Track record of rigorous source validation, fact-checking, and verifiable reporting (not opinion or commentary).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
