Next Generation Fellowship Programme (PhD)

Location: London (Hybrid)
Practice Area: Technology & Engineering
Type: Permanent

Start Date: 1st February 2027 - you must be available to join on this date in order to participate in the induction and follow-on training provided.

Fast-track your career in technology consulting through one of Capco's flagship early careers programmes.

The Role

Our Next Generation Fellowship Programme is designed for exceptional recent or upcoming doctoral graduates who want to apply their research expertise to solving complex business and technology challenges.

Running for over ten years, the programme accelerates technically gifted individuals into consulting careers, providing opportunities to work alongside experienced consultants, former fellows, and industry experts on some of the most innovative transformation programmes in financial services.

As a Fellow, you will bridge the gap between business strategy and technology implementation, helping clients solve complex challenges through research, analysis, innovation, and technology. You’ll also explore how approved AI tools, automation, and AI-enabled ways of working can improve the speed, quality, and insight of your work, while applying human judgement and responsible AI practices.

The variety of work means no two projects are the same, allowing you to develop expertise across multiple domains while shaping your own career path.

What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to technology strategy, digital transformation, cloud adoption and modernisation programmes for financial services clients.
  • Apply research, analysis and structured problem-solving to market analysis, proposition design and complex business and technology challenges.
  • Support projects involving artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, cybersecurity, resilience, sustainability and large-scale transformation.
  • Use approved AI tools and AI-enabled workflows where appropriate to accelerate research, analysis, prototyping and delivery, while maintaining human oversight, appropriate review and responsible AI guardrails.
  • Help design and test new fintech ventures, innovation pilots and proofs of concept, collaborating with technical and business stakeholders throughout delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
