The Role
Newcastle Health Research Partnership (NHRP) – an Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) – is seeking a pro-active, energetic Events Coordinator to help deliver on a range of events across the NHRP portfolio.
NHRP is a collaborative partnership between Newcastle University, Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust, Newcastle City Council, and Northumbria University. Our collective mission is to drive change in the health, wealth, and wellbeing of over 3.2 million people living in the North East of England and North Cumbria.
As a pioneering AHSC, we integrate health research, clinical excellence, education, and innovation to address major regional health challenges. We work to break down barriers, foster collaboration, and promote a whole-system approach that spans the life course, in partnership with NHS and local authority colleagues.

As part of NHRP core team you will work across NHRP’s programme areas, developing and delivering a wide range of events in priority areas.
This is an exciting opportunity to help NHRP engage key stakeholders and raise its profile across the health and care research in the North East. The post is offered on a full time basis.

Key Accountabilities
- Responsibility for developing and delivering a wide range of events both in-person and online. Working closely with NHRP colleagues to ensure the events meet specific objectives and align with partnership priorities across the three workstreams Research, Training and Public Partnerships
- In liaison with the NHRP leadership team, manage all elements of events to ensure quality and consistency of delivery. Duties may include: developing event plans, liaising with external stakeholders, assessment and booking of appropriate venues; catering and hospitality arrangements, staffing plans, briefing staff and training student ambassadors and volunteers. For digital events, selecting and implementing suitable platforms appropriate for each specific event
- To develop and maintain the annual events calendar to assist in the preparation and monitoring of the NHRP operating plan, budget and workload
- To establish, maintain and develop event systems and processes necessary to support delivery, monitoring and evaluation
- Working closely with communications lead to ensure the timely and effective promotion of events and activities via appropriate channels
- To be present at events, where appropriate for set up, registration of guests and to provide support to the NHRP Team
- To inform the future planning process via regular de-briefs and follow up communications with event planners and stakeholders
- To ensure all events are compliant with Health and Safety regulations and ensuring all relevant documentation is completed and up to date
- To keep up to date with the latest insights into event management in order to help inform the direction of the events programme
- Provide administrative support to the NHIP Management Team as required, including in relation to meeting organisation, travel arrangements and project administration

The Person
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Outstanding communication, organisation and event management skills
- Excellent IT skills and demonstratable experience of working with platforms such as Zoom and Teams
- Outstanding attention to detail, report writing and proof-reading skills
- Excellent interprofessional, teamwork and negotiation skills and ability to communicate effectively with a range of external contacts and audiences
- Proven experience of developing relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent project management, time management and administrative skills
- Flexible approach to work demands in the context of event delivery
- Substantial experience relating to event planning, organisation, management and promotion, in context of large public and specialist audiences, both virtually and in person

Qualifications
- Educated to a degree level in a relevant area or equivalent events experience
- Project Management Qualification and Event Management Qualification
