Who We Are
As NHS Scotland's unique provider of a national tele-health and tele-care service, we are responsible for the delivery of health advice and information by telephone and online services to the population of Scotland 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. NHS 24 is a patient-focused service providing the people of Scotland with triage, advice, guidance, referral and information on health and healthcare services.
Our Regional Centres are located at, Cardonald, Clydebank, South Queensferry, Dundee and Aberdeen. This post will be based in our Cardonald Regional Centre, with Hybrid working available.
The Role’s
Role
NHS 24 have an excellent opportunity that allows Parents who are being supported by DWP in looking for work, to gain valuable work experience across 3 types of roles. The placement’s will consist of working 16 hours per week for 12 months, on a hybrid basis from our Cardonald Regional Centre in the following roles:
- Admin Assistant to Head of Integrated Service Delivery (1 post)
- ICT Admin Support (3 posts)
- PMO Admin Support (1 post)
Key Responsibilities - Administrative Assistant to Head of Integrated Service Delivery
- Support the Service Delivery team with NHS 24's administrative duties to provide administration support to the Head of Integrated Service Delivery and across the broader operational transformation functions as required.
- Support the administration of improvement projects, business cases, transformation initiatives and service redesign programmes
- Review and maintain emails within the Head of Integrated Service Delivery inbox responding to enquires where appropriate
- Prepare meeting papers, agendas and supporting documentation. And record, produce and distribute formal minutes and action logs

Key Responsibilities ICT Administrative Support
- Support the ICT team with NHS 24's administrative duties to facilitate the delivery of projects and programmes
- Coordinate ICT activities including but not limited to, generic mailbox support, diary co-ordination, setting up meetings, and assisting with development / delivery of project and programme documentation
- Adhere to and develop organisational administrative policies and procedures. This will include Document Management and Control in line with the Freedom of Information Act
- Provide administrative support across NHS 24’s programmes and projects including attendance and participation at meetings, formal minute taking, recording and following up on action points, maintaining plans, decision and action logs, risk and issue registers and diary management

Key Responsibilities PMO Administrative Support Assistant
- Coordinate PMO activities including the PMO SharePoint site, PPM tool, mailbox, calendar and assisting with development / delivery of project and programme documentation
- Organise a variety of formal and informal meetings, securing a suitable time for multiple attendees. As well as organise room bookings, promoting the use of video conferencing systems to reduce the requirement for attendees to travel
- Provide administrative support across NHS 24’s programmes and projects including attendance and participation at meetings, formal minute taking, recording and following up on action points, maintaining plans, decision and action logs, risk and issue registers and diary management.
- Monitor and report on the progress of project activities across multiple projects and programmes

Successful Applicant Will
- Be currently receiving support from the Glasgow Futures Programme as a parent returning to the workplace
- Have previous experience in an administrative/coordination role
- Demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office packages including Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams and Outlook
- Demonstrate an all-round professional attitude to performing the varied tasks required, with excellent communication and organisational skills
Benefits
NHS 24 offers a complete benefits package, with a Fixed-term 12-month contract of 16 hours per week, on Band 3 £29,103 - £31,409 Per Annum (pro rata if applicable). Placement on salary scale is dependent on confirmation of previous relevant NHS service.
