LiveWell Dorset works in partnership with both councils’ Public Health teams to deliver an exciting targeted health checks service. We are passionate about supporting people to lead healthier, happier lives, and we are now looking for enthusiastic individuals to help bring this service into communities across the region.
As our service goes from strength to strength, we’re building on our brilliant team, and are looking for someone to support the team in a supervisory role.
The ideal person will come with a passion and enthusiasm to work with people and communities who are at the highest risk of cardiovascular disease. As part of the role you will be working on the front line delivering face-to-face health checks and behavioural change lifestyle support, with the overarching aim of reducing health inequalities across a range of settings. We will provide full NHS health check training, so if this isn’t something you haven’t done before, please do still apply. Alongside this you will work closely with the Health Check Team Lead to make sure the team have everything they need to get the job done.
Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include
- Delivering NHS Health Checks across Dorset in a variety of different settings, such as community centres, libraries, sports centres and a variety of different health care settings
- Supporting GP surgeries and Primary Care Networks (PCN’s) in the delivery of their NHS Health Check Programme
- Engaging with a variety of different community leaders, setting up dates and bespoke Health Check events
- Supporting the team with administration and supervisory duties

About You
You're the kind of person who genuinely enjoys helping others. You can put people at ease, listen without judgement and encourage positive change, even when conversations are challenging. You're kind, patient and positive, but you're also confident enough to ask the difficult questions and provide honest, constructive feedback when it's needed.
You'll be meeting people from all walks of life, often in community settings, so you'll need excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly. You understand that lasting behaviour change isn't always easy, and you're motivated by helping people take those important first steps towards better health.
