About the Role — Night Auditor: £13.65 per hour
As a Night Auditor, you play a unique and essential part in the guest journey. You’ll handle late-night check-ins, support guests throughout the night, and complete end-of-day financial duties with accuracy and confidence. You’ll also help with breakfast preparation, ensuring our guests start their day with a warm, welcoming experience.
Residence Inn Edinburgh is an apartment-style hotel in the heart of the city, conveniently located in the vibrant Quartermile area next to a range of cafes and restaurants. It offers a quiet haven in the bustling city for both business and leisure travellers, and your leadership will be central to making every guest feel genuinely at home from the moment they arrive.
This is a dynamic overnight position covering:
- Night-time guest service
- Financial and audit tasks
- Safety and security checks
- Communication and administrative support
- Early-morning breakfast setup & light cooking
- Supporting other departments when needed
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Communication
- Answer telephone.
- Speak with guests and colleagues clearly and professionally.
- Handle check-in/check-out and guest enquiries overnight.
- Exchange important information with morning teams to ensure seamless service.
Finance & Night Audit Duties
- Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy.
- Control and secure cash and cash equivalents in line with policy.
- Complete daily audit procedures using property software.
- Organise, store, and maintain confidential records correctly.
- Prepare reports and ensure all end-of-day systems balance.

Breakfast Setup & Light Cooking
- Assist with early breakfast preparation.
- Help with food presentation, organisation, and basic cooking duties.
- Ensure the breakfast area is clean, stocked, and welcoming.
Safety & Security
- Maintain awareness of activity around the property during night hours.
- Follow emergency procedures when required.
- Keep all areas safe, clean, and secure.
Teamwork & Professionalism
- Support co-workers and maintain positive relationships across departments.
- Uphold all Marriott standards for quality, appearance, and conduct.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
Physical Elements
- Move, lift, and carry items up to 10 lbs without assistance.
- Stay active throughout the shift.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma/G.E.D. equivalent
- Related Work Experience: Less than 1 year related work experience
- Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is required
