The Role:

The purpose of the service is to reduce inequalities within health, employment and life experiences for people with learning disabilities and mental ill health. To engage, enable and empower individuals with learning disabilities and mental ill health to have fulfilled, rewarding and healthy lives. Utilising a strengths-based approach, through partnership working with the individual, their family and carers, health partners, local businesses, employers, organisations and the local community we endeavour to achieve our purpose. Enabling the individual to live a life that matters to them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality care and support to residents, assisting with personal care and daily living needs
  • Offer reassurance, companionship and emotional support in line with individual care plans
  • Create and maintain a safe, welcoming and homely environment for residents
  • Conduct regular security, safety and fire safety checks of the building and accurately records safety checks
  • Assist with maintaining residents’ rooms, including bed making and changing linen where required.
  • Work collaboratively with managers and the wider care team, attending supervision and following guidance as directed

About You:

  • Positive interest in working with people with learning disabilities
  • Demonstrate the personal qualities including good communication skills, required to relate positively to residents and colleagues
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Able to provide rota cover
