About The Role

As a Working Cleaning Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of cleaning services across BBC London Tier 1 sites. This is a hands-on role combining cleaning duties with supervisory responsibilities, ensuring consistently high standards are maintained while providing visible leadership, guidance, and support to the cleaning team.

Shift Pattern: Sunday to Thursday 22:00 - 06:00

What you'll do

  • Work alongside the cleaning team to maintain high standards across offices, desks, kitchens, washrooms, communal areas, floors, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Lead by example, ensuring cleaning specifications, colour coding procedures, and safe systems of work are followed.
  • Deliver daily team briefings, communicating priorities, operational updates, and expected standards.
  • Allocate tasks and work areas, adjusting resources to manage absence, access restrictions, and reactive cleaning requirements.
  • Carry out regular floor walks and cleaning audits, identifying issues and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
  • Respond quickly to reactive cleaning requests to maintain service standards.
  • Complete and sign off daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning schedules.
  • Use Agility or similar CAFM systems to record audits, actions, and service activity.
  • Ensure cleaning equipment is checked, maintained correctly, and any defects are reported.
  • Monitor cleaning chemicals, consumables, and stock levels, arranging orders when required.
  • Ensure compliance with COSHH, PPE requirements, health and safety procedures, and safe working practices.
  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and support to cleaning operatives.
  • Complete return-to-work meetings following employee absence in line with company procedures.
  • Ensure scheduled deep-cleaning activities are completed, including fridges, microwaves, sluice rooms, bins, and other designated areas.
  • Ensure food disposal and scheduled fridge-cleaning processes are completed correctly.
  • Provide accurate end-of-shift handovers to incoming supervisors and management.
  • Build professional working relationships with the client, FM teams, and key stakeholders, escalating issues when appropriate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
