Role Description
This full-time, on-site Night Customer and Trading Manager role is based at the Chafford Hundred store. The role is responsible for leading night shift operations, including overseeing replenishment, merchandising, and store readiness for the next trading day. The manager ensures excellent customer service for late-night shoppers, handles customer queries and concerns, and maintains a safe and welcoming store environment. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating and motivating night colleagues, managing workloads, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring accurate pricing and promotions. The role also involves maintaining compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and delivering strong commercial performance through effective trading decisions.

- Experience in retail or store management, including supervising teams and coordinating shift operations.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to handle queries, resolve issues, and maintain high service standards.
- Competence in stock control, merchandising, and understanding of trading and sales performance.
- Ability to work effectively during night shifts, manage time and priorities, and maintain attention to detail.
- Clear communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, coach, and support colleagues.
- Awareness of health, safety, and compliance requirements within a retail environment.
- Basic numeracy and IT skills for using store systems, reports, and operational tools.
- Previous experience in a supermarket or large-format retail environment is beneficial; leadership experience is an advantage.
