The Vacancy

McCarthy Stone are looking for a dynamic Night Duty Manager at their prestigious Portman Court estate in Uckfield, East Sussex.

Hourly rate: £12.24 per hour

Two Positions Available Depending On Your Preference

Hours:

  • One position to work - 2 nights a week, every week that will include alternate weekends (23hrs)
  • Second position to work - 3 nights over a 2 week period, that will include alternate weekends. (34.5hrs)

About The Role

As a member of the Management Team (covering the daytime periods when the Estate Manager is not on duty) and is expected to discharge all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to enhance the quality of Assisted Living Home Owners’ lives in retirement. The post holder is accountable to the Estate Manager for the following:

  • Deputising for the Estate Manager for the estate management functions.
  • Responding to emergency situations.
  • Leading and co-ordinating the Assisted Living support staff working within the development in providing services which can respond flexibly to the needs of the home owners.
  • Monitoring that staff provide high quality support to the home owners.
  • Ensuring staff rotas are effectively covered.
  • Taking the lead role for a given service area.
  • Expected to discharge all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to enhance the quality of Assisted Living home owners’ lives in retirement.

Staffing

Key tasks:

  • Contribute to leading and supervising staff whilst leading the shift.
  • Induct new staff and contribute to their supervision.
  • Carry out regular audits of staff competency.

Customer Care

  • Ensure the delivery of an excellent standard of customer service to home owners.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing numbers are met, providing direct support provision where necessary.
  • Maintain necessary records and participate in the reviews as necessary
  • Responsible for the safety and well being of the home owners and staff on duty.
  • Liaise with other professionals, family, neighbours, volunteers etc as necessary

Estate Management

  • Ensure the building is clean and well-presented at all times.
  • Ensure fire equipment testing and fire drills are undertaken in accordance with the company policy under the direction of the Estate Manager.
  • Carry out regular call monitoring equipment checks in accordance with company policy under the direction of the Estate Manager.
  • Ensure the Guest Suite is prepared for visitors and cleaned following use, including laundering the bed linen.

The Successful Candidate Will Be Able To Demonstrate

  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience of providing support services
  • Knowledge and understanding of budgets
  • Understanding the needs of older people
  • Ability to deal with emergency situations
  • Good interpersonal skills
