We're looking for a caring, experienced Night Healthcare Assistant (Enhanced) to join our dedicated night team at Beech Lodge.
This is a Night HCA role with additional Enhanced responsibilities, providing high-quality, person-centred care throughout the night while supporting the Night Coordinator and colleagues to maintain safe, effective care.
As an Enhanced Night HCA, you'll take on additional responsibilities such as supporting with medication administration following training and competency sign-off, mentoring colleagues and helping new starters, while leading by example and promoting safe, compassionate care.
You'll help ensure our residents feel safe, comfortable and reassured throughout the night, always promoting kindness, dignity, respect and independence.

Your Role
As a Night Healthcare Assistant, you'll provide compassionate personal care, emotional reassurance and practical support to our residents throughout the night.
As an Enhanced Night HCA, you'll also take on additional responsibilities within the night team, including supporting the Night Coordinator, assisting with medication administration where trained and competent, mentoring colleagues and helping to maintain safe standards of care.

What You'll Be Doing
- Providing person-centred personal care, including continence care and repositioning
- Carrying out regular welfare checks and night-time observations
- Responding promptly and compassionately to call bells
- Providing comfort, reassurance and companionship throughout the night
- Supporting with medication administration following appropriate training and competency sign-off
- Monitoring residents' health and wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns promptly
- Following individual care plans and ensuring care is delivered in line with residents' needs and preferences
- Maintaining accurate digital care records
- Supporting the Night Coordinator with the smooth running of the shift
- Providing guidance and support to colleagues when required
- Helping new starters settle into the team and understand safe working practices
- Acting as a positive role model and promoting good standards of care
- Helping to maintain a calm, safe and secure environment throughout the night
- Escalating any concerns appropriately and seeking support when required
What We're Looking For
- An experienced Healthcare Assistant with a minimum of the Care Certificate
- Previous experience working in a care setting
- Experience supporting people with dementia or complex care needs would be desirable
- A kind, calm, patient and empathetic approach
- Confidence to take on additional responsibility and support colleagues
- Medication training and competency, or willingness to complete the required training
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic IT skills and confidence using digital care systems
- A reliable and positive approach to working night shifts
- A genuine commitment to providing safe, dignified and person-centred care

Pay Scale
Night Healthcare Assistant
- £14.00 per hour
- £17.50 per hour (weekends)
- £28.00 per hour (bank holidays)
Enhanced Night Healthcare Assistant
- £15.00 per hour
- £18.75 per hour (weekends)
- £30.00 per hour (bank holidays)
