Night Hygiene Supervisor
Sittingbourne UK
Your Mission
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for directing a team cleaning industrial food production machinery to meticulous standards.
What You Will Do
- Supervise the night hygiene team, this includes assisting with staff recruitment, appraisals, holidays, absence, and pay queries.
- Maintain a safe working environment for the employees in the department.
- Ensure there is adequate staffing, PPE, equipment & chemical resources are available to carry out the night hygiene duties. Escalate any issues to your line manager promptly.
- Ensure cleaning is being carried out in accordance with approved cleaning methods and at the required frequency. If the cleaning schedule has not been followed, the supervisor should create corrective actions and put in preventative measures to prevent further occurrences.
- Work closely with the Technical Manager to ensure the required hygiene standards are being met, and that the cleaning schedules and cleaning methods are kept up to date.
- Maintain accurate and timely cleaning records.
- Attend training as required to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
- Deliver staff training on cleaning methods, schedules, chemical usage, etc., as and when required.
- Drive the hygiene standards across the site.
- Assist with cleaning duties as required (hands on role).
- Carry out a weekly stock take of all chemicals / cleaning consumables / equipment and liaise with purchasing to ensure chemicals stock levels are being maintained.
- Carry out handover to production staff, where required prior to production start-up.
- Assist chemical supplier as required, e.g., facilitate night hygiene inspections, training sessions, etc.
- Carry out chemical titration checks and basic maintenance of hygiene equipment where required.
- Work within the department budget and help manage department costs.
- Carry out other duties that are within the general scope of the post and grade which may be required from time to time, as part of their team development and progression within the organisation.

- Good written and verbal communication.
- Previous experience within a hygiene supervisory role within a food manufacturing environment.
- COSHH training.
- Health & Safety training.
- First Aid Training.
- Level 2 HACCP & Food Hygiene.
- Basic computer literacy.
What You Can Expect From Puratos
- £16.91 per hour.
- 5% bonus scheme.
- Core hours are 21:00 – 05:00, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
