The Role
This Shift is 8pm to 8am on a 3 on 3 off shift pattern
As a Night Porter at Audley Villages, you will play an important role in ensuring our village remains safe, secure, welcoming, and beautifully presented throughout the night.
You will be a visible and reassuring presence for our owners and guests, providing friendly and professional support while carrying out overnight security checks, monitoring CCTV, responding appropriately to emergencies, and ensuring the village is ready for the following day.
You will also support with overnight cleaning, refuse collection, pool and leisure facility preparation, reception duties, and administrative tasks.
This is a role where you will need to work confidently and independently, manage competing priorities, and remain calm and professional when unexpected situations arise.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carrying out regular security checks and monitoring CCTV in line with company procedures.
- Responding appropriately to fire alarms, personal health alarms, and other emergencies.
- Providing a warm, friendly, and professional presence for owners and guests throughout the night.
- Supervising the reception area and managing overnight calls and enquiries.
- Identifying and reporting hazards, maintenance issues, damage, or unusual activity.
- Supporting owners when required, while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and respecting privacy and dignity.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation across communal areas.
- Completing overnight cleaning, refuse collection, and other operational duties.
- Where applicable, preparing swimming pool and leisure facilities for the following day and completing required pool testing.
- Preparing communal areas and facilities for the day team.
- Completing daily reports and providing a clear handover to the day team.
- Maintaining accurate records and handling information sensitively and confidentially.
- Following all Health & Safety, Fire Safety, safeguarding, and company procedures.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is reliable, calm, and naturally caring, with the confidence to work independently and make sensible decisions overnight.
You'll Ideally Have
- Experience in a night, security, hospitality, care, facilities, or customer-facing environment.
- Strong communication skills and good written and spoken English.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Basic computer skills and confidence using systems to record information.
- The ability to remain calm and professional in unexpected or emergency situations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A warm, empathetic, and customer-focused approach.
- Good awareness of personal safety, Health & Safety, and emergency procedures.
- The ability to recognize when someone requires assistance and know when to escalate concerns.
- Reliability, trustworthiness, and the ability to work responsibly when working overnight and, at times, alone.
- A genuine commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and exceptional experience for our owners and guests.
