Night Receptionist – Kents Hill Park, Milton Keynes | Full-Time / Permanent

£13.58 per hour + excellent benefits including healthcare, wellbeing support, 23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, life assurance, meals on duty, and more.

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable, and confident Night Receptionist to join the team at Kents Hill Park. You’ll be responsible for looking after our guests and supporting the smooth running of the hotel overnight, ensuring everything is safe, secure, and ready for the day ahead.

Night Receptionist – The Role

As Night Receptionist, you’ll take responsibility for the smooth running of the hotel throughout the night, providing a welcoming and professional service to our guests while ensuring the hotel remains safe, secure, and well presented.

You’ll:

  • Deliver a warm, personalized, and professional service to guests throughout their stay.
  • Manage guest check-ins and check-outs during the night, responding to queries and requests promptly.
  • Take responsibility for the Front Office operation overnight, working closely with the Reception Supervisors and Front of House Manager.
  • Complete the Night Audit and ensure all relevant reports are accurate and submitted correctly.
  • Prepare and submit the Night Duty Manager report, ensuring key information is communicated to the wider team.
  • Respond confidently and appropriately to guest complaints or issues, taking ownership and finding quick, effective solutions.
  • Monitor and complete overnight task lists for the Front Office and wider hotel team, ensuring outstanding tasks are followed up.
  • Carry out regular fire walks throughout the night to ensure the safety and security of guests, colleagues, and the hotel.
  • Respond to evacuations, emergencies, and other incidents in line with hotel procedures and policies.
  • Inspect the car park and surrounding areas, ensuring litter is removed and bins are changed where required.
  • Check the cleanliness and presentation of coffee areas before they open in the morning.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and professional Front Office environment, ensuring reception and office areas are free from clutter.
  • Maintain excellent personal presentation, punctuality, and professional standards at all times.
  • Build strong relationships with guests and take the time to understand their needs throughout their stay.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of hotel products, services, facilities, events, pricing, policies, and the local area.
  • Follow all hotel SOPs and ensure operational and safety procedures are consistently followed.
  • Use initiative to identify and resolve issues independently, escalating where appropriate.
  • Support the wider hotel operation during the night and ensure the team is ready for a smooth start to the following day.

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience within hospitality, hotels, or a guest-facing environment.
  • A genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service.
  • The ability to work confidently and independently during night-time hours.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • A proactive approach, with the confidence to use your own initiative and solve problems.
  • The ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations or emergencies.
  • A strong understanding of the importance of health, safety, and security within a hotel environment.
  • Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Good knowledge of hotel products, services, and local events would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge and experience of Opera is required.
