Night Receptionist/Night Porter

AG Hotels Group is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Night Receptionist/Night Porter at Milestone Hotel, Peterborough. As a night receptionist, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operations of the hotel during the night shift.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Managing the hotel reception during night hours, including guest check-ins, check-outs, and enquiries.
  • Answering telephone calls and assisting guests with any requests or concerns during the night.
  • Completing night audit and relevant end-of-day administrative tasks accurately.
  • Carrying out regular security and safety checks of the hotel, including guest areas and entrances.
  • Monitoring the hotel throughout the night and reporting any maintenance, security, or guest issues to the appropriate person.
  • Setting up and preparing areas for breakfast and ensuring the hotel is ready for the morning operation.
  • Supporting basic Food & Beverage duties when required, including preparing drinks or assisting with late-night guest requests.
  • Handling cash and payments in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation in reception and public areas.
  • Following all hotel health and safety, fire, and security procedures.
  • Providing friendly, professional, and attentive customer service at all times.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • A friendly, professional, and welcoming approach to guests.
  • Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure, particularly during night shifts.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Good IT and basic administrative skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to deal with guest queries confidently.
  • Ability to follow hotel procedures, including health and safety, fire, and security requirements.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with other departments.
  • Previous hotel or customer service experience is desirable but not essential.
