The purpose of the role is to take leadership of shift operation from raw material blending, filling, and packing, and site logistics, lead and motivate the shift teams (double-day shift). Take the responsibility of achieving and driving business KPI’s (H&S, Quality, Performance, Cost, People).

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan labour effectively by identifying gaps and work with peers to ensure optimum planning of labour and skills available to meet demand.
  • Engage with the wider leadership team (across night shifts, engineering, quality) to seek support and promote effective communication.
  • Ensure administrative and people management duties are carried out in an accurate and timely manner in relation to absence management to include investigations and disciplinary process.
  • Ensure department specific workplace transport is maintained/serviced to the correct standards and frequency.
  • Take corrective action on issues which significantly impact core KPIs.
  • Support the lean approach and enable the team to drive waste reduction across ASC.
  • Comply with statutory standards and ABF policies.
  • Effective escalation of proportionate issues to Production Manager in a timely manner and with relevant detail.
  • Deputise for Production Manager as and when required.

  • At least 3 years experience in a Shift Manager/Shift Leader/Team Leader role.
  • People management experience incl employee relations issues.
  • Readiness to work on a night shift
  • Proven experience in managing multi discipline resource to meet production schedules.
  • Proven experience of managing end to end processes working with multi disciplined teams
