Night Shift Food Production Manager
At Pure, we're proud to produce fresh, high-quality food for our retail and wholesale partners. Our Central Kitchen is a fast-paced, high-volume operation that supplies a wide range of products every day, made with precision, care and consistency. As a SALSA-accredited site, food safety, structure and accountability sit at the heart of everything we do.
Our night shift is where much of the magic happens. It's the team that makes sure our shops and partners start every day fully stocked with fresh food. We're looking for a confident, highly organised Night Shift Food Production Manager to take ownership of overnight production and lead the team with a strong focus on quality, compliance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the Central Kitchen overnight, acting as the senior manager on site throughout the shift.
- Lead and manage all night production to deliver safe, high-quality products on time and to specification.
- Make sure all orders are produced, labelled, packed and ready for morning dispatch to retail and wholesale customers.
- Keep strict adherence to SALSA standards, health & safety policies and food hygiene regulations (HACCP, COSHH etc.).
- Make sure all production is properly documented and follows clear standard operating procedures.
- Lead, coach and motivate the night team, building a culture of accountability, structure and attention to detail.
- Plan and manage the overnight production schedule, adapting quickly to late orders or changes in demand.
- Run clear, thorough handovers with the day team so nothing falls through the gaps.
- Monitor stock levels, support ordering and reduce waste through careful planning and control.
- Deal with operational, staffing and equipment issues on the spot, escalating where needed.
- Drive continuous improvement and food safety excellence across the night operation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
