Job Purpose
To make sure the seating solutions are produced safely, cost-effectively and on time and that they meet the required quality standards.
Main Tasks To Be Completed
This is not exhaustive but should cover the main tasks
- Responsible for ensuring works orders are completed and delivered on time to specifications.
- The role holder will also be tasked with ensuring the teams KPIs and objectives are being met.
- Support the development of direct reports, by acting as a mentor and supporting continuous improvement activities.
- To ensure a quality culture throughout the manufacturing processes by actively facilitating collaboration between departments and continuous improvement.
- Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising quality, product safety or integrity.
- Proactively suggesting new methods and techniques to improve efficiency.
- Ensure those working in the plant operational areas follow the Company / industry standard health and safety guidelines

- Number of seats / sub-assemblies built vs Build plan
- Shipping targets
- Efficiency targets
- Quality targets and customer score card results.

- Attention to detail – performs tasks accurately and thoroughly. Ensures that quality is never compromised and every seating solution produced is of a high standard. Ensures that the product leaders maintain a properly equipped work area and follow Company policies and procedures.
- Client Service – Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external clients. Continually monitors the quality of items produced to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Communication – Effectively communicates by actively listening and sharing relevant information so as to anticipate problems and to ensure team are up to date. Consistently delivers accurate, clear and concise messages orally and / or in writing to effectively share information. In particular to ensure that the production teams receive a clear consistent message rather than rumors.
- Flexibility – Able to adapt and work with a variety of situations. Able to think on feet and not being disconcerted or stopped by the unexpected. Resolves daily conundrums with minimal disruption to the production.
- Initiative – Identifies what needs to be done and takes action to achieve the standard of quality required. Works autonomously, identifying areas of improvement within the operation.
- Organisational Understanding – Understands how the allocated production area interconnects with the rest of the business and the overall achievement of Company goals. Understands the structure and culture of The Company as well as the political and economic issues affecting the organization.
- Planning and Organising – Works independently, responsible for the establishing a systematic workflow of checks and procedures to ensure the efficient operation of the allocated production area. Ensures that the head count is planned to meet the operational demand.
- Problem Solving – Builds a logical approach to solving problems by drawing on own knowledge and experience in addition to external experts. Presents problem analysis and recommends solutions rather than just describing the problem.
- Results orientation – Sets and maintains high performance standards for self and others that support the overall Company objectives. Manages resources to ensure build plan is met and communicates any barriers to achieving this in time for action to be taken. Regularly updates customer liaison to ensure that customers’ expectations are not just met but exceeded.
- Team Leadership – Effectively manages and guides their allocated team to achieve the required production targets, without compromising quality. Involves the team members in defining ways to achieve the desired results and motivating the team to achieve the required standard of work performance.
- Teamwork – Able to work cooperatively with others to achieve The Company goals. Treats all team members with dignity, respect and maintains a sense of humour. Is not afraid to seek advice from others

Education / Skills / Qualification / Experience Requirements
- Solid experience in Operations or Production management in a Manufacturing environment;
- Experience with robot welding machines
- Experience with people management including coaching / mentoring, appraisal, training and capability/disciplinary procedures.
- Strong leadership skills, able to inspire and energize individuals and teams, encouraging teamwork and maximising productivity.
- Capable of working under-pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, and AX
