NIGHT TIME ECONOMY OFFICER

Location: Birmingham City Council House – Victoria Square, B1 1BB

Pay: £14.50 per hour / Weekly Pay

Hours: 12 hours per week

Shifts: Friday & Saturday – 21:00–03:00

Contract: Temporary

Requirement: Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence

About The Role

Looking for a role where you can make a real difference in your community during the busiest times of the night?

We’re recruiting Night Time Economy Officers to support Birmingham city centre, helping to maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-managed night-time environment.

Working closely with local partners, you’ll play a key role in supporting public safety, engaging with the community, and helping to reduce anti-social behaviour in busy nightlife areas.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Patrolling designated night-time areas, providing a visible and reassuring presence
  • Supporting members of the public and offering assistance where needed
  • Working alongside emergency services when required
  • Liaising with licensed venues to monitor activity and identify issues
  • Gathering and sharing intelligence on local trends and concerns
  • Promoting a safe, respectful, and enjoyable night-time environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence (essential)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Calm, professional, and confident in challenging situations
  • Awareness of public safety and community engagement
  • Ability to work evenings and night shifts
  • Previous experience in security, community safety, or similar roles (desirable)
