Role Overview

Swain Container Solutions, part of the Swain Group, is seeking 2 experienced, proactive Night Transport Operators to join their specialized container haulage division. These permanent roles operate on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern from their London Gateway Depot, ensuring continuous, 24/7 coverage for major UK ports and container distribution channels.

Key Responsibilities

• The Night Transport Operator coordinates the overnight movement of the fleet, acting as the primary point of contact for drivers and ports to guarantee on-time container deliveries.
• Actively dispatch and monitor a fleet of evening drivers and subcontractors, tracking ETAs and resolving route issues in real-time.
• Liaise directly with major UK ports to book and manage container delivery and collection slots.
• Utilise the Transport Management System (such as Truckcom) to record driver start/finish times and update schedules.
• Ensure all operations strictly adhere to driver hour restrictions, vehicle compliance, and Health & Safety guidelines.
• Proactively communicate updates, potential delays, and expected delivery windows to customers.
