The Opportunity

Swanland is situated in a rural, affluent part of East Yorkshire within beautiful countryside, with easy access to the North York Moors national park, East Yorkshire coastline & the cities of Kingston-Upon-Hull, Beverley, Lincoln, Leeds & York. The beautiful setting is echoed within the practice grounds themselves.

The 24-hour hospitalization has separate dog, cat, exotic & isolation wards, three operating theatres with updated surgical facilities & equipment, an in-house lab, excellent diagnostic imaging facilities, including ultrasound, doppler, digital x-ray, a range of digital endoscopes, rhinoscopy, arthroscopy, and a CT suite along with diagnostic ECG, hydrotherapy, underwater treadmill, and laser therapy.

As a night nurse, you will be working alongside an experienced night vet, managing all out-of-hours care for the hospital and ensuring continuity of care by engaging in morning and evening handovers with the day team. This position would suit a nurse that has a keen interest in developing or adding to their existing knowledge of emergency and critical care.

Due to the nature of night work, there is a level of autonomy that comes with the role, so the ideal candidate will be trusted to work independently but must also be a team player with excellent client & customer care skills and a commitment to a high standard of in-patient care.

This is a permanent contract working full-time on a 7 on / 7 off (20:00-08:00) rota basis.

This is the perfect opportunity to take the next step in your career by joining the growing Medivet community. We want to be the best place for vets and nurses to work and we're taking the right steps in achieving this. For more information, contact gemma.butterfield@medivet.co.uk

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
