NLRF Training & Exercise Group (TEG) & Risk Officer

What you’ll bring

• Strong knowledge and experience in risk assessment methodology, mitigation, project management, and multi-agency working, supported by ongoing professional development and understanding of the Civil Contingencies Act.
• Competent in Microsoft Office (including Excel) and resilience-related applications, with a good standard of education and a willingness to undertake a Level 4 Training/Learning & Development qualification within six months of appointment.
• Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to work in a busy, multi-tasking environment and confidently engage with senior leaders and staff across multiple organisations; experienced in training, exercising, and project-based work.
• Pragmatic and analytical problem-solver with strong prioritisation, relationship-building, reporting, presentation, administrative and organisational skills, able to perform effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Positive, adaptable and collaborative worker who can operate independently or as part of a team, staying calm under pressure, managing multiple issues, handling varied information confidently, using common sense, and demonstrating enthusiasm, motivation and a commitment to ongoing personal development.

Terms of appointment

This is a fixed term role subject to a six-month probationary period.

If you are successful in your application, you will have a six-month probation period with us where you will be unable to apply for any other post advertised internally or externally.
