The Role
As a Network Operations Centre (NOC) Engineer, you will be part of an international team that monitors and maintains more than 14,000 servers and 250 Network devices, spanning multiple Data Centres, across the Globe. NOC Engineers manage Incidents, and troubleshoot and resolve, both routine and complex Network, Hardware, and Operating System issues in a timely and efficient manner. This ensures Proofpoint maintains high levels of Production system Availability & Uptime for our Customers.

Given the global nature of our Business, our NOC Engineers work in a rotating shift pattern, ensuring 24x7 coverage for the Business. This role will primarily support the hours of 06 00-19 00 GMT/BST.
Responsibilities

Incident Management and Workload Execution
- Coordinate with Senior team members to identify broader patterns or trends
- Assist in maintaining and improving Operational Standards & Documentation; including monitoring quality, runbook/knowledge article and general procedure/process improvements

Modernization and Continuous Service Improvement (CSI)
- Use of prescribed AI tooling to gain efficiencies in Operational practices, implement positive tooling or procedural changes and monitoring refinement activities.
What You Bring To The Team
- Strong Technical knowledge, predominantly with Linux OS, to inform diagnosis & resolution of Incidents on critical customer-facing systems
- Major Incident Management skillset, including creation and documentation of Major Incident detail and actions taken on Production systems, facilitation of investigation and resolution, communication of situational updates to the business.
- Basic technical understanding of concepts including core Network (Switching and Routing) principles, and Cloud Computing principles
- Proficiency with monitoring of internal Production systems, leveraging Proofpoint’s suite of monitoring tooling

Desirable Certifications (not mandatory, but are preferable)
- CompTIA certifications; A+, Network+, Cloud+, Linux+ or Security+
- OS Vendor Specific certifications including LPIC, LFCS, RHCSA or MCSA, MSCE or more advanced certification types
- Cloud Vendor certifications
- ITIL v. 3/4/5
