About the Role/Company

NOC Service Design Specialist

SC Clearance required

Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite)

Contract length: 6 - 18 months

Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance required (DV eligibility highly desirable)


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced NOC Service Design Specialist to support the development and operation of a critical, large-scale technology environment. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the service operating model for a 24/7 Network Operations Centre, ensuring new and existing services are designed, transitioned, and managed in line with industry best practices. Working within a highly secure and fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for defining service design standards, supporting operational readiness, and ensuring a seamless transition of services into live operation.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain service design processes, policies, and standards aligned to ITIL best practice.
  • Design and define the operating model for a 24/7 Network Operations Centre.
  • Engage with technical and business stakeholders to translate operational requirements into effective service designs.
  • Support the development of business cases and service strategies for new capabilities and enhancements.
  • Define support models, including responsibilities across 2nd, 3rd, and 4th line support functions.
  • Assess existing monitoring and operational tooling, identifying gaps and recommending improvements.
  • Produce and maintain Service Design Packages (SDPs) and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure effective service transition processes and clear operational handovers.
  • Manage and coordinate day-to-day activities for first-line operational resources.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to service delivery, scalability, resilience, and security.

Qualifications

  • ITIL Foundation Certification (essential).

Required Skills

  • Strong experience within IT Service Management (ITSM), particularly Service Design and Service Transition.
  • Demonstrable experience designing services within a Network Operations Centre (NOC) or similar operational environment.
  • Excellent understanding of ITIL Service Design principles and best practices.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality service documentation and operational procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience assessing operational tooling, monitoring solutions, and support models.
  • Active SC Clearance is required.

Preferred Skills

  • ITIL Intermediate, Practitioner, or advanced Service Design qualifications.
  • Experience working within highly secure or regulated environments.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Eligibility for, or previous experience working within, enhanced security-cleared environments.
