NodeJS Backend Developer required by a growing SaaS software business, working as part of a fast-moving product and engineering team.

The role will focus on the design and development of scalable backend services using NodeJS and TypeScript, with the opportunity to take ownership of features from initial design through to production.

Rather than simply working through development tickets, they are looking for someone who is comfortable taking responsibility for delivery and contributing ideas around how backend systems and development practices can be improved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing scalable server-side applications using NodeJS and TypeScript
  • Taking backend features from design through to production-ready delivery
  • Building and maintaining microservices
  • Writing unit and integration tests to maintain software quality and reliability
  • Working within established development, documentation, and deployment processes
  • Contributing to improvements across coding standards and engineering practices
  • Working collaboratively as part of an Agile software development team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
