About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Full-Stack Software Engineer with extensive experience in Node.js to join our dynamic development team. This role involves working on complex projects that require a deep understanding of back-end development, system integrations, and cloud-based environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions, ensuring high-quality code through test-driven development practices. Regular travel to Blackpool (2 to 3 times a month) is expected, and candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with Node.js in a full-stack capacity, including back-end development.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and related frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with Linux (RHEL) environments.
- Experience with Git and distributed version control systems.
- Background in developing and deploying applications in cloud-based environments.
- Ability to build and test system integrations and interfaces.
- Experience leading or mentoring software engineers within Agile, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Stakeholder management experience, including engaging with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end systems using Node.js in a full-stack context.
- Implement and advocate for test-driven development practices to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of REST APIs and services, both public-facing and internal.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical specifications and solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and promote best practices within the team.
- Support operational stability by monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving system resilience and maintainability.
- Engage with stakeholders at various levels, providing technical insights and updates on project progress.
- Assist in building and testing system integrations/interfaces, ensuring seamless interoperability across platforms.
- Work within Linux environments, managing deployments and configurations in cloud-based settings.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including adopting new tools and methodologies such as microservices architecture and BDD.
