About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled NodeJS Backend Developer to join our team on a 9-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend features that support our SaaS platform. Your primary focus will be on building scalable, high-performance applications utilizing NodeJS and TypeScript, ensuring reliability and efficiency in every release. You will work within an agile environment, collaborating closely with product managers, front-end developers, and other stakeholders to deliver seamless solutions that meet business needs.
The successful candidate will take ownership of features from initial conception through to deployment, contributing to microservices architecture and writing clean, well-tested code. Your role will involve participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous integration processes to uphold high standards of quality and security. This position offers an excellent opportunity to influence the technical direction of our platform and develop expertise in modern backend technologies and cloud platforms.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in server-side development using NodeJS and TypeScript in a commercial setting.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and best practices for automated testing and deployment.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including services relevant to backend development.
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, and familiarity with gRPC and OAuth2 protocols is advantageous.
- Ability to write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
- Proactive problem solver with strong ownership and communication skills.
- Experience working in fast-paced or scaling environments is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend features and microservices using NodeJS and TypeScript.
- Collaborate with product and technical teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies to ensure continuous improvement.
- Implement and optimize database schemas and queries for performance and scalability.
- Contribute to the deployment process, including CI/CD pipeline management and monitoring.
- Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, bugs, and other issues proactively.
- Stay updated with emerging backend technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements.
- Ensure security best practices are integrated into all development activities.
