This full-time Node.js JavaScript/TypeScript role at Storm Games is a hybrid position based in Wolverhampton, with flexibility for some work from home. The team member will design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that power gaming platforms and system solutions. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Writing clean, testable code in Node.js and TypeScript
- Integrating with internal and external services
- Optimizing performance and reliability for high-traffic gaming environments
The role also involves collaborating closely with front-end developers, game developers, product owners, and QA engineers to deliver new features, address issues, and improve existing systems. The individual will participate in code reviews, contribute to technical documentation, and help refine development processes and best practices.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript, with practical experience using TypeScript for backend services.
- Experience building RESTful or GraphQL APIs, working with JSON-based services, and integrating with third-party APIs.
- Knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and experience with query optimization and schema design.
- Familiarity with modern development tools and practices, such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and containerization (e.g., Docker).
- Understanding of scalability, performance tuning, and security best practices for distributed or high-availability systems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a hybrid environment, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and take ownership of deliverables.
- Experience in gaming, iGaming, or other real-time interactive systems is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
