Trainee Field Technician
We are currently recruiting for a number of Trainee Field Technicians to support water leak detection activities across the Medway area.
This is an excellent opportunity to start a career within the water industry, with full training provided and no previous experience required.
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (day shifts)

Training Provided
Successful Candidates Will Receive Full Training, Including
- EUSR Water Hygiene
- Unit 2 Street Works
The Role
As a Trainee Field Technician, you will assist with water network leak detection by deploying and retrieving specialist logging equipment within District Metered Areas (DMAs).
Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include
- Installing noise loggers on water network assets, including fire hydrants and valves
- Deploying approximately 80–100 loggers per day
- Returning to retrieve the loggers after 24 hours
- Downloading and reviewing collected data to identify potential leakage activity
- Recording findings accurately and repeating the monitoring process as required
- Driving between various locations within your designated area

The loggers are designed to capture leakage noise during quiet overnight periods, helping to identify hidden leaks within the network.
This is a hands-on, outdoor role that involves regular walking, bending, stretching and occasional lifting. Candidates who are comfortable driving for extended periods and working independently will be well suited to the position.
Ideal Backgrounds

- Multi-Drop Driver
- Meter Reader
- Field Technician
- Warehouse Operative
- Labourer
- Any practical, outdoor or manual working environment
Requirements
To Be Considered, Applicants Must Have
- A full UK manual driving licence
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- The ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
