Non-Contentious Construction Solicitor | NQ | City of London | Top 100 Firm

Are you an NQ Solicitor looking to build your career in Non-Contentious Construction within a highly regarded and supportive team?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing Projects, Development & Construction practice, where you’ll receive strong mentorship, hands-on experience, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced lawyers on high-quality matters.

The specialist Projects, Development, and Construction team is a core part of the wider firm, providing a comprehensive range of construction law advice across a broad spectrum of projects. You’ll join a close-knit team working alongside experienced Associates, Senior Associates, and highly regarded Partners. With a collaborative approach and a strong emphasis on learning and development, you’ll have the opportunity to learn directly from lawyers with extensive expertise across construction and development.

The Role

A fantastic opportunity for an NQ Solicitor with an interest in Non-Contentious Construction to join a growing team and develop their expertise with excellent support and mentorship.

As an NQ in the Projects, Development, and Construction team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of construction matters, working closely with experienced members of the team and gradually taking on greater responsibility as your experience develops.

Your work may include:

  • Assisting with the drafting, review, and negotiation of construction and project documentation.
  • Supporting procurement and contracting strategies across a range of projects.
  • Advising on standard form construction contracts, including JCT, NEC, and FIDIC.
  • Assisting with bespoke construction agreements and amendments.
  • Supporting due diligence on development and investment projects.
  • Advising clients across sectors, including residential development, housing, accommodation, healthcare, education, commercial, and infrastructure.
  • Supporting clients with contractual and risk management issues throughout the lifecycle of projects.
  • Working alongside senior lawyers on complex and high-value construction matters.
  • Developing your understanding of construction contracts and the commercial considerations affecting clients.

You’ll receive hands-on training and close supervision from experienced partners and senior lawyers, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions, learn from live matters, and develop your technical knowledge. The team is committed to helping junior lawyers build confidence and take ownership of their work as they progress.

You’ll also have the opportunity to become involved in client relationships and business development activities over time, giving you a well-rounded foundation for your future career.

Requirements

  • Newly Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
  • Training contract experience in Non-Contentious Construction.
  • Genuine interest in developing a career within Construction and Projects.
  • Good understanding of construction contracts, ideally including JCT, NEC, or FIDIC.
  • Strong academics and attention to detail.
  • Commercial awareness and a willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for working as part of a close-knit team.
