ARE YOU LOOKING FOR AN OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE THE WORLD? At Rites for Girls our mission is to do just that, one girl at a time. Girls are growing up in a changing and challenging world and we train women to work preventatively to help girls thrive by strengthening mental well-being, self-esteem, resilience and connection. We also support their caregivers as the girls journey through this pivotal phase in their lives. We’re looking for additional Non-Executive Directors to join our Board and support our dedicated Management Team in achieving their ambitious goals.

A LITTLE CONTEXT: Rites for Girls is a Community Interest Company created in 2011 by Kim McCabe and as we enter our own adolescence, it is time to scale up. We have been awarded funding from The National Lottery Community Fund for a three-year project to broaden our reach into diverse communities, address economic barriers to access, and ensure the sustainability of the organisation.
OUR IMPACT: To date, we have welcomed more than 1,000 girls aged 8-18yrs to our programmes and feedback from them is overwhelmingly positive, with responses to a recent survey showing that:
- 97% feel better about the future
- 96% say they know how to take better care of themselves
- 98% would recommend us to other girls
CAN YOU HELP? We are looking for up to four women who share our values to become Non-Executive Directors and join our Board, on a voluntary basis. In particular, we’re looking for women with board-level experience in one or more of the following:

- Finance (particularly in the not-for-profit sector)
- Links with education
- Third sector management
Those with other areas of expertise, including law, fundraising, marketing and communications are also welcome to put themselves forward.
