Non-Executive Chair - Energy & Utilities sector - London

We are seeking an experienced Non-Executive Chairman to support the next stage of growth for PlusHeat, a high-growth UK home services business.

The role will work closely with the Founder & CEO, Board and shareholders, combining strong governance with active strategic support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chair and manage the Board, ensuring constructive challenge and clear accountability.
  • Mentor, guide and hold the CEO to account while protecting management from unnecessary Board and shareholder distraction.
  • Manage shareholder expectations and help maintain alignment around the company’s strategy.
  • Support negotiations to acquire shares from certain early investors.
  • Help position the business for a subsequent strategic or institutional fundraise.
  • Support investor introductions, fundraising negotiations and transaction structuring.
  • Help develop and execute an M&A-led growth strategy focused on building an AI-enabled home services group.
  • Provide strategic input on acquisitions, valuation, capital allocation and integration.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Chairman, CEO, investor or senior Board-level experience.
  • Experience working with founder-led, high-growth businesses.
  • Strong shareholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in fundraising, M&A and buy-and-build strategies.
  • A strong network across private equity, strategic investors and corporate finance.
  • A commercial, pragmatic style with the ability to challenge the CEO constructively without interfering in day-to-day management.
