Volunteer Non-Executive Director
Learn Without Limits CIC is seeking a volunteer Non-Executive Director with experience in fundraising, income development, philanthropy, strategic partnerships, sponsorship, or social-impact growth.
We are a Wales-based, parent-led organisation developing practical navigation support for families of children and young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and related system barriers.
Over the past year we have built a growing public evidence base through our specialist blog and knowledge base, quarterly open-call briefings, parent and stakeholder engagement, digital resources, workshops and the development of our Prevent → Bridge → Progress model.
We are now looking for someone who can help the Board convert that evidence and momentum into sustainable income pathways.
This role is about strategic income development, not scattergun bid-writing. We particularly need someone who can help us:

- Develop our funding and income strategy
- Sense-check funder fit and avoid poor-fit opportunities
- Strengthen funding propositions and narratives
- Identify appropriate trusts, foundations, sponsorship, partnership and social-investment routes
- Open doors to relevant funder, philanthropic, corporate and public-sector networks
- Explore unrestricted, earned and diversified income
- Provide constructive Board-level challenge around sustainability and growth
- Strengthen awareness of grant governance, restricted funding and reporting
We are not looking for an unpaid full-time fundraiser or somebody expected to write every application themselves.
The role may suit someone with experience in fundraising, trusts and foundations, philanthropy, corporate partnerships, CSR/ESG, social enterprise, commissioning, strategic business development, income diversification, social investment or charity/CIC leadership.
Knowledge of Welsh or UK funding networks would be particularly valuable. Direct ALN experience is not essential, although lived experience of disability, neurodivergence, caring, education or community systems would be welcomed.

Time commitment: approximately 4–8 hours per month, including quarterly Board or strategy meetings and occasional advisory, review or networking input. Most meetings are remote.
