Our Client

Our client is an award-winning, £5m turnover technology business based in Surrey, with 35 staff, established across the Housing, Local Government and NHS space. The business is growing significantly and is targeting a sale or IPO within 4–5 years.

The Chairman — an accomplished leader with a strong track record of taking tech businesses to IPO — is seeking an experienced Non-Executive Director from a software/technology background, ideally with strong commercial exposure to social housing and local authority markets (NHS exposure also welcomed).

The Role

Working closely with the Chairman and board (circa 1 day per month, plus occasional ad hoc strategy sessions), you will:

  • Act as a sounding board and advise on operational and growth strategy, with a focus on the company's niche sectors
  • Use your sector contacts and relationships to support business development, partnerships and strategic opportunities
  • Help shape good governance and compliance practice for a software business operating in regulated public-sector environments
  • Support the board in preparing the business for its next phase of growth, including the eventual sale/IPO process
  • Identify future opportunities and risks as the business scales

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
