Create Studios is a creative organisation based in Swindon, bringing together film, photography, animation, digital storytelling and talent development.
For over 40 years, we’ve been producing purposeful creative work for organisations across the UK and internationally, while creating opportunities for new and under-represented talent to build skills and careers in the creative industries.
As a Community Interest Company, we reinvest our profits to create positive social impact. Through programmes including Create Futures and Create Traction, we support young people and emerging creatives with the skills, confidence, mentoring and opportunities they need to take their first steps into paid work.

The Role
We’re looking for new Non-Executive Directors to join the Create Studios Board.

This is a voluntary role, based in Swindon, with the opportunity for some meetings to take place remotely.
As a Non-Executive Director, you’ll help shape Create’s strategic direction, provide constructive challenge and support to the leadership team, and contribute to good governance and the long-term sustainability of the organisation.
You’ll be expected to:
- Attend quarterly Board meetings and review relevant reports and information.
- Bring independent thinking, experience and constructive challenge to Board discussions.
- Help oversee areas including finance, risk, governance and organisational performance.
- Support Create’s social impact and our work with young and under-represented talent.
- Help develop partnerships, networks and fundraising opportunities.
- Act as an ambassador for Create within the creative, cultural and community sectors.
- Work collaboratively with fellow Board members and the Executive team.

You may have experience in:
- Film, broadcast, digital media or the wider creative industries.
- Strategy, governance or senior leadership.
- Finance, legal, risk or organisational development.
- Higher education, skills or talent development.
- Cultural funding, fundraising or partnership development.
- Marketing, communications or audience development.
- Youth, communities, social enterprise or social impact.
We’re particularly interested in people who can bring different perspectives, networks and lived experience to our Board.
Previous Board or trustee experience is helpful but not essential. We welcome applications from people who have relevant experience and are ready to bring their knowledge and perspective to a Board role for the first time.
Most importantly, we’re looking for people who are curious, collaborative and committed to creating opportunities for the next generation of creative talent.
