Non-Medical Prescriber in ADHD Medication Service
As a Non-Medical Prescriber within our ADHD Medication Service, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based assessment, prescribing, treatment and ongoing care for children, young people and adults with ADHD. You will work autonomously within your professional scope of practice and prescribing competencies, managing ADHD medication titration, monitoring, clinical risk assessments and ongoing reviews. You'll make safe, informed clinical decisions by following NICE guidance, professional standards and organisational policies. Working closely with our multidisciplinary team, you'll deliver compassionate, person-centred care that puts clients at the heart of their treatment. You'll build positive relationships with colleagues, patients and families to support joined-up care and shared decision-making. Through your expertise, you'll help us deliver a safe, effective and sustainable ADHD service while contributing to its ongoing development and success.
What Will I Be Doing?
- Deliver high-quality treatment planning review in line with NICE guidance. This will include medication initiation, titration and review using your clinical judgement to make safe, evidence-based treatment decisions, so that every person receives personalised, effective and compassionate care.
- Prescribe and monitor ADHD medication safely by working within your prescribing competencies, following professional guidance and organisational policies, monitoring treatment effectiveness and side effects, and ensure appropriate physical health monitoring is completed, including blood pressure, pulse, weight and cardiovascular risk screening in accordance with NICE guidance, so that medication remains safe, appropriate and achieves the best possible outcomes.
- Manage clinical risk and safeguard the people we support by completing comprehensive risk assessments, recognising and escalating concerns relating to safeguarding, medication misuse, diversion or deterioration, and contributing to multidisciplinary risk management plans where needed, so that people receive timely, safe and appropriate support.
- Work collaboratively with patients, families and colleagues by involving people in shared decision-making, communicating clearly with patients, families, GPs, schools and partner organisations, and contributing to multidisciplinary discussions and care planning, so that care is joined-up, person-centred and everyone understands the next steps.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and uphold high standards of governance by producing clear, timely and legally compliant documentation, following GDPR, professional standards and prescribing governance frameworks, reporting incidents and safeguarding concerns appropriately, and using clinical systems safely, so that care is well documented, compliant and supports safe clinical practice.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our medication and treatment service by participating in clinical supervision, audit, reflective practice, service evaluation and quality improvement activities, while helping to develop clinical pathways, prescribing practices and ways of working, so that we continue to deliver safe, effective and evidence-based services.
- Manage your workload safely and professionally by working within your scope of practice, maintaining professional registration, mandatory training and CPD, keeping your knowledge up to date, and raising concerns if workload or capacity becomes unsafe, so that you can provide high-quality care while maintaining your own professional wellbeing and standards.
- Use technology confidently to support excellent care by using electronic patient records, digital clinical platforms and communication systems accurately and securely, while always maintaining confidentiality and information governance, so that information is protected and care is delivered efficiently across the service.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
