Non-Medical Prescriber – ADHD
Location: Salford - Manchester (On-site only)
Job Type: Contract
Salary: £120,000 p/year - FTE
Hours: Minimum 2 days p/week
About the role
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) to join our growing ADHD clinical team. This is an exciting opportunity for an appropriately qualified Independent Prescriber with experience in ADHD medication management to provide high-quality, patient-centred care to adults and/or young people diagnosed with ADHD.
You will be responsible for medication initiation, titration and ongoing review, working within your professional scope of practice and in accordance with relevant clinical guidance, prescribing requirements and our clinical governance framework. The role offers the opportunity to work autonomously while being supported by an experienced multidisciplinary clinical team.
Key responsibilities
As an ADHD Non-Medical Prescriber, you will:
- Undertake comprehensive clinical reviews of patients diagnosed with ADHD.
- Review relevant clinical and diagnostic information prior to prescribing.
- Discuss treatment options with patients and support shared decision-making.
- Initiate ADHD medication where clinically appropriate and within your prescribing scope.
- Safely titrate medication and monitor treatment response.
- Undertake ongoing medication reviews and make appropriate adjustments where required.
- Monitor relevant physical and clinical parameters in accordance with appropriate guidance and clinical protocols.
- Identify and manage potential contraindications, adverse effects and medication interactions.
- Provide patients with clear information regarding medication, expected benefits, potential side effects and safe use.
- Recognise when further assessment, investigation or onward referral is required.
- Work collaboratively with ADHD clinicians, GPs and other healthcare professionals where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records.
- Ensure prescribing decisions are clinically justified, evidence-based and appropriately documented.
- Maintain a high standard of clinical governance, safeguarding and patient confidentiality.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of our ADHD service.

About you
We are looking for an NMP who is:
- A registered healthcare professional with an appropriate Independent Prescribing qualification.
- Experienced in prescribing for ADHD and managing ADHD medication.
- Confident undertaking medication reviews and titration.
- Able to make safe, evidence-based clinical decisions independently.
- Comfortable managing controlled-drug prescribing within the relevant legal and professional framework.
- Patient-focused, empathetic and an excellent communicator.
- Confident discussing treatment options and supporting shared decision-making.
- Able to recognise clinical risk and appropriately escalate concerns.
- Organised and confident working remotely and/or autonomously.
- Committed to maintaining high standards of clinical practice and patient safety.

Essential requirements
- Current registration with the relevant professional regulator.
- Independent Prescriber qualification.
- Demonstrable experience of ADHD prescribing and medication management.
- Appropriate professional indemnity insurance.
Desirable
- Experience working within a specialist ADHD service.
- Experience with both stimulant and non-stimulant ADHD medications.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary ADHD team.
- Experience delivering remote/video clinical consultations.
- Additional ADHD-specific training or CPD.
