Experienced Norland-trained Governess Opportunity in Central London
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Norland-trained Governess to join an established private family in Central London. The successful candidate will support three school children with their education, routines, and development, while also providing care for a newborn when required.
The role will initially be offered on a weekend basis, with the intention of transitioning to full-time from mid–late November, subject to performance. The full-time schedule will be approximately 45 hours across six days per week. The family travels regularly, with the Governess expected to accompany them on domestic and international trips of up to two weeks, approximately 4–6 times per year.

The Role
The Governess will provide a combination of educational support, structured childcare, and newborn care, becoming an important part of the children's daily lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting schoolwork, homework, and educational development.
- Managing and supporting children's daily routines and school requirements.
- Encouraging independence, confidence, good manners, and positive habits.
- Providing warm, attentive care for the newborn when required.
- Planning appropriate activities, outings, and educational experiences.
- Accompanying the family on domestic and international travel.
- Working collaboratively with the existing household team.
- Maintaining complete discretion and confidentiality.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Norland training and appropriate childcare/governess qualifications.
- Proven experience as a private Governess within a HNW/UHNW family.
- Strong experience supporting school children with education and homework.
- Proven newborn experience.
- A warm, nurturing, and genuinely child-focused approach.
- Excellent organisational skills and a proactive, structured manner.
- A polished and professional approach to private household life.
- Flexibility to travel with the family for extended periods.
- The ability to confidently manage multiple children's needs.
- Strong professional references from previous private household employers.
- Absolute discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.

The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Norland-trained Governess to join an established private family in Central London, supporting three children and a newborn.
The role offers the opportunity to develop a long-term relationship with the family, with regular international travel and a transition to full-time from mid–late November, subject to performance.
