Job Description

North is looking for an experienced Data Centre BAU Engineer to join our team supporting critical data centre infrastructure across two key sites in Barnsley and Wakefield.

This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer with strong experience in data centre environments, structured cabling and network connectivity, who is comfortable working in a highly controlled and customer-focused environment.

The Role

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, installation and connectivity requirements across the data centres, ensuring infrastructure is delivered safely, accurately and in line with customer standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain copper and fibre structured cabling in line with required protocols.
  • Install and connect network equipment within the data centre environment.
  • Respond to incidents, faults and infrastructure requests.
  • Carry out cable recovery and removal works when required.
  • Manage and update client IT systems and change records.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
