Are you a hands-on bakery professional with a passion for product development, creativity, and delivering for customers?
At AB Mauri, we’re looking for a Bread NPD Technologist to join our team and play a key role in turning bakery ideas into commercially successful customer solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on exciting bread development projects in a business that combines technical expertise, customer focus, and innovation.
As part of AB Mauri, you’ll also be joining the wider Associated British Foods (ABF) group, an international business with a strong heritage, broad global reach, and a portfolio of well-known food and ingredients businesses.

What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will:
- Carry out accurate and reproducible test bakes
- Support customer presentations with high-quality product samples, delivered on time
- Analyse trials, write reports, and communicate findings with clear recommendations and next steps
- Keep project updates current on internal systems so progress is visible and well managed
- Input supplier specifications and material data to support food safety and development processes
- Liaise with Finance to gather ingredient and product costing information
- Build your expertise in formulation, ingredient functionality, and bakery technology
- Communicate with suppliers to obtain technical, quality, and food safety documentation
- Work cross-functionally to move developments through set-up within business and customer deadlines
- Uphold strong standards in health, safety, hygiene, and housekeeping
- Take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional working environment

Essential
- Strong experience in practical bakery
- Full driving licence
- Intermediate IT skills
- Organised and proactive approach
- Motivated, ambitious, and eager to learn
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Confident communication skills with colleagues and customers at all levels
- A strong commitment to quality in a customer-focused environment
