New Product Development Projects Lead

Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer or Project Engineer with a strong background in New Product Development?

Our client, a forward-thinking manufacturing business is looking for a New Product Development Projects Lead to manage technical projects from planning through to delivery.

You’ll lead cross-functional teams and work with internal stakeholders, suppliers and external partners to ensure projects meet quality, compliance, performance and manufacturing requirements.

Hybrid working will be available once you’re established in the role, with the long-term arrangement being four days in the office and one day from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead New Product Development projects from planning through to completion
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, resources, risks and deliverables
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, suppliers and external partners
  • Develop project plans, technical specifications, reports and supporting documentation
  • Lead product risk management activities, including FMEA and hazard analysis
  • Support verification, validation and testing activities
  • Ensure projects meet relevant regulatory, quality and compliance requirements
  • Identify technical issues and implement practical solutions
  • Contribute to design reviews and product improvement initiatives
  • Keep up to date with new technologies, materials and manufacturing processes

Who They’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering or Project Engineering
  • HND or degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience delivering technical or New Product Development projects
  • Experience within a highly regulated manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of product development, testing, quality and regulatory requirements
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes including injection moulding, extrusion or machining
  • Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and technical writing abilities
  • A practical, proactive approach with strong attention to detail
  • Able to take ownership and work effectively across multiple teams
