About the Team

Join our Peterlee-based Quality team focusing on the Passive Safety & Braking product line. You will be part of a close-knit team of four, bringing together apprentices, technicians, and engineers with a broad range of experience and opportunities to share your knowledge while learning from experienced colleagues. Day to day, the team leads the introduction of new product launches, working cross-functionally with departments such as Quality and Logistics and collaborating closely with Program Managers. The team also engages directly with end customers, including automotive OEMs, offering varied exposure across internal and external interfaces.

What you can look forward to as NPI Engineer

  • Collaborate closely with Program Managers to launch new products and implement changes to existing products
  • Follow ZF’s Operations Launch Management (OLM) process
  • Manage multidisciplinary project teams
  • Create and maintain detailed project timing plans
  • Organise team meetings and maintain an open-issues list
  • Identify project risks and implement contingency plans
  • Monitor project budgets
  • Provide regular updates to the Leadership Team

Your profile as NPI Engineer

  • GCSE qualifications in Maths and English at grades A to C
  • A relevant Engineering qualification, such as an HNC or degree
  • Experience of launching new products and implementing changes to existing products
  • Knowledge of OLM, GDPEP, and SAP would be desirable
  • The ability to lead and motivate others, manage conflict effectively, and communicate clearly in writing and verbally
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, use available resources effectively, set deadlines, and monitor progress
  • A practical and analytical approach to problem-solving, with the ability to assess situations and select the most appropriate course of action
  • The resilience and adaptability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond quickly to changing situations
  • The technical capability to understand product requirements and complex assembly processes
