Beagle Aircraft is an established aerospace manufacturer producing precision-engineered components and assemblies for major aerospace programmes. We’re looking for an experienced NPI Engineer to take ownership of New Product Introduction and industrialisation activities, turning engineering designs into practical, repeatable and production-ready manufacturing processes.

The Role

This is a hands-on technical role covering the full journey from initial feasibility and planning through first article manufacture, process validation and production handover. Working across Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain and Commercial, you will ensure new products can be manufactured safely, efficiently, on time and to the required aerospace quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead NPI and industrialisation projects from initial review through to production handover.
  • Translate engineering drawings and customer requirements into practical manufacturing processes.
  • Create manufacturing routings, process plans, work instructions and production documentation.
  • Define tooling, jigs, fixtures, equipment and inspection requirements.
  • Lead first-off builds, production trials, process validation and manufacturing readiness reviews.
  • Identify and resolve manufacturing problems during introduction and early production.
  • Support DFM and DFA reviews to improve manufacturability, quality and cost.
  • Work with Quality teams to support First Article Inspection and product approval.
  • Support RFQs with feasibility assessments, manufacturing methods, labour estimates and tooling requirements.
  • Coordinate technical activity across Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain and customer teams.
  • Drive Right First Time delivery and continuous improvement throughout the NPI process.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to engineers and operational teams.

About You

You may currently be working as an NPI Engineer, Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Industrialisation Engineer, Project Engineer or Production Engineer. We’re particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have:

  • Led new products from engineering design into live manufacturing.
  • Strong manufacturing process planning and industrialisation experience.
  • Experience creating routings, work instructions and production processes from engineering drawings.
  • Worked within aerospace, defence or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Practical experience with metallic components, sheet metal, fabricated structures or aerospace assemblies.
  • Supported first article builds, production trials, process validation and FAI activities.
  • Experience defining tooling, jigs, fixtures and inspection requirements.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • An HNC, HND, degree or equivalent practical experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience with machining, composites, welding, special processes, manufacturing estimating or AS9100 environments would be advantageous.
